Career in Ollywood : Namrata Thapa's creative journey took her to Oriya and Bengali films. Her Oriya film 'I love you' was a smash hit, and  " Mita Re Mita "which made her the most popular actress in ollywood. 

Latter her released Bengali films 'Golmal' and 'Ghar Jamai' have made house full all over Bengal.

She made her debut on the Bollywood big screen acting in Blackmail starring Ajay Devgan and Sunil Shetty, and Tauba Tauba opposite Laxmikant Berde. She has acted in Oriya video albums and in Film 'Jai Sri Rama'. She then acted in south Indian films before coming to notice in Bollywood through her role in Tauba Tauba.
