Career in Modelling : She has done a lot of modelling and fashion shows in Orissa and West Bengal.

Career in Bollywood : She has made few hit serials like 'Kya Hadsa Kya Haqiqat', 'Vaidhehi'. 'CID', 'Ravan',and 'Nagin'. The latest of Namrata Thapa is Sagar Arts "Mahima Shani Dev Ki" . She is playing the central character of Rani Madanlekha, wife of King Vikramaditya who is under the spell of Shanidev. Rani Madalekha stands by the king in hours of ups and downs which makes the Namrata's role interspersed with different shades, ranging from a pauper to the queen.

Career in Ollywood : Namrata Thapa's creative journey took her to Oriya and Bengali films. Her Oriya film 'I love you' was a smash hit, and  " Mita Re Mita "which made her the most popular actress in ollywood. 

Latter her released Bengali films 'Golmal' and 'Ghar Jamai' have made house full all over Bengal.
